Directions for Discussion Board

  • To register for the discussion board click on the REGISTER link on the lower right hand side of the page. Create a username and a password will be sent to the e-mail address you have provided.

 

  • The first time you sign on you will be brought to a page with tabs at the top of the page, they are; DASHBOARD, WRITE, MANAGE, AND PROFILE.

 

  • To get to the Main Discussion Page from this area click on the (view site>>) link next to the PARSONS FAMILY ASSOCIATION DISCUSSION BOARD title at the top of the page.

 

  • From the main page you are able to view posts or comment on them. To comment on a post (a username is not required for this) click on the light blue COMMENT link a the bottom of a post. This reply will be posted as a comment to the post.

 

  • To return to the DASHBOARD (WRITE, MANAGE, and PROFILE) page click on the Site Admin link under the META heading in the lower right hand side of the screen. 
  • To write a POSTING you can click on the WRITE tab or on the DASHBOARD tab, then select Write a Post. (Posts can be placed under one of the following categories: Genalogical Posting, Parsons Family Association Posting, or General Posting. A post may also be uncategorized.)

 

  • To edit or remove a post you have written you must go to the MANAGE tab.

 

  • If you have any other questions on the Discussion Board there is a help key in the top righthand corner of the DASHBOARD, WRITE, MANAGE, and PROFILE screen
